OMG! Caramel Cuts Recipe


I really struggled about whether or not to post this because we all know who makes the best caramel cuts. Ms. Hardy does. But, I figure if I post one recipe, maybe the rest of you would be willing to share your secret recipes too. (Uh, Tom? That corn dish?)
So here we go:
1 cup butter
2 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
4 eggs, slighty beaten
1 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 cups chopped nuts - optional

preheat oven to 350, grease 9 x 13 " pan
melt butter in saucepan until bubbling, pour over brown sugar and mix until
well blended. add eggs and vanilla and beat well
sift flour and baking powder into mixture. blend well. add nuts if desired.
pour into pan, bake for 30 -35 minutes or until done. cut while still
slightly warm.

Be warned. Melveaʻs dog stole and then ate an entire pan of this stuff. Please keep out of reach from dogs, greedy paddlers who stash food and uh . . . well, me.
